Trip to Quebec notes
Information and discussion about seaplanes, float planes, and water operations.
6 of us in two planes (and one car)headed from Southern Maine to Eastern Quebec for a week of fishing at our cabin. Great trip the fish were slow to bit at first, it has been very warm up there. We had a DCH-2 fresh from a recent rebuild and a c-180 both on straight floats. The trip up was uneventful and a tail wind helped get us there in record time. Two of us headed home on Thursday after they flew us back to the car at Harve St Piere float plane base. The planes were going to head home on Sat. Due to unrelenting fog and rain they did not get home for another 8 days. At least they had some rice and fish to get them through. They met a few other pilots from Quebec.
I cannot figure out how to put up photos on here, If someone wants I can email them to be posted?

I should also add, make sure you call the correct phone number when crossing the boarder to keep customs happy, they had a little issue on the way home. Never had a problem in the past 20 yrs, but an extra 8 days in the bush gets to you !

Not just rain but Fog as well. I am still trying to get my photos up on here, might get it done this weekend. the nice thing is that we had a great trip and both planes are planning next years trip already, the 8 days being stuck did not put a damper on the trip for them. They may not eat fish for a few weeks at home.... After feeding the dog fish for four days his coat is nice.(bring more dog food next time)

Nice looking beaver. I just got back from Ungava. Took 8 days to get home because of weather.
