Trip to the Owyhee

I flew from S49 to Owyhee landing strip both on Sat. and today Sunday. I took some water and some ice down on Sat. I just took a friend down to see the Hilton and the gang that is down there. The group from Hood River , and Madras were all down there camping out. It was good to talk with them and see how much fun they were having. They had the cabin all cleaned up and in good shape. They had caught some crapie ( fish) the first night they were there. The strip is in fair shape, and it is awful dry. The lake is down quite a bit. Bob

Sounds like a good time! From Caldwell, the weather through out the Owyhee's looked pretty stormy and wet all weekend. I'm glad the guys are having good weather at the strip. Pat.

We returned from JC on Saturday after waiting there since Wednesday for the weather to improve. Owyhee and Alvord looked good.

The lodge at Spaulding/Eagle Lake was closed. We left.

Spanish Springs (N86) still had $4.50 gas and the entertainment of landing/taking off on the taxiway.

Be glad when this weather improves. Reminds me of summer in AK.
