Re: Trouble makers

That's scary, lets hope they don't try and bill them for the emergency run! At least they didn't get any cell phone video. Its a different world now with every yahoo having his camera AND phone with him all the time. This is one reason I have the swiss muffler on my plane, at least they can't hear me.

Re: Trouble makers

Well, you know the Missouri has a history in bush style landings. How about one in a DC-3 a little over a 100 miles northwest of here loaded with 25000 lbs of pot hoping to go unnoticed on a Superbowl Sunday. It was foiled by a few hardy fisherman and ranchers.

Re: Trouble makers

I love how the article says the pilot was partying. All the local people reading this probably think he was getting drunk. But then again, maybe he was.

Courierguy, wonder if having a very quiet plane would make someone seeing the plane land think that the engine was out?

Re: Trouble makers

I landed at a gravel bar today and jumped out to pee, when around the bend came a small boat. I thought it was going to be the DNR and I would get lambasted but it was just a Die Hard fisherman. It was only 10 degrees out and he was fishing in a little flat bottom John boat, and he thought I was crazy for landing there. We talked a bit and in the end he pulled his boat up on shore and I took him for a quick spin, he was grinning ear to ear. It was pretty cool.

Re: Trouble makers

Id like to be cool and say Ill be there for the next party with the Otter and some friends. Short hop from my new ranch. Maybe summer. How was the sand? Do I need the bigger tires for the Twin Otter? Looks big enough in this photo.

That's what its all about..taking him for a spontaneous ride I mean! That's always a major privilege, to do that for, (or to) someone, good job!
