Well that really neat airstrip just a few miles from North Rim of Grand Canyon is on the charts (Sky Vector) and has a U. That means unverified. So you fly over it and you see a bit of an overgrown airstrip with no x's on it. So you verified that there is an actual airstrip and you land. Is that a no harm no fowl.
Just asking for a friend

Did I say I hated photo bucket

The RAF and the Arizona pilots association have been working really hard with the state and park service to reopen this airstrip. They are making good progress but don’t think it’s out of the woods yet. Please go to the Arizona pilots association website and or contact Mr Spencer before you do so that a fragile situation isn’t complicated. I think Spencer is a member here and may chime in.

Been on Arizona Pilots site. Am not planning on landing there. On the charts it used to show the airport with an X on it. Why it was changed to U is baffling if they really want it closed
