Re: UK laws regarding off airport landings.

Am not aware you can land on private or public land that isn’t a designated airfield in England outside of a forced or precautionary landing. There are hundreds, possibly thousands, of private farm strips which are accessible sometimes by asking the owner. But landing without permission would be a form of trespass.

I thought the development of the Europa kit built plane - with it's big monowheel landing gear - was to allow fellow subjects of the Crown to fly off of private land and avoid landing fees.

No?

OK so I don't live in England, but I think New Zealand laws are similar... we are still a colony after all.

We have "Queens chain" around most riverbeds, meaning that the Crown owns the waterway up to the high bank. There are maps / GIS showing this detail of which areas are Crown land and which are not.

That land is available to all people, for boating, 4WD, biking, fishing, and aviation. Your situation may not be exactly the same, given the Queen actually lives there and may not want you on her land
