Uncharted California Airstrips

I don't know that this thread will take on the life of Choss's Oregon thread but... I've found a couple airstrips that I've asked about and gotten pretty quick answers. Figured I'd start a thread for all the California strips.

So let me start with this one. Anyone know about this strip? Who owns it, what's the status? Located roughly between San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield.

Then there's this one near Hernandez Reservoir near King City.

Scott, this one is in my backyard and have flown over it many times but never landed. Never have seen another plane there...just a couple vehicles and a container for storage or something. I have landed by the lake a few times though

If you look close there's actually another strip a couple miles to the south and east where "clear creek rd" crosses "clear creek". This strip has a gate next to it that says "Blue Sky Ranch" but haven't uncovered any info about it...mostly pasture now. There's an old barn there I'd love to get a pic in front of in the late afternoon sun but...

Haven't been over that way lately but I'm sure the lake is now more of a mud puddle, same with the other two lakes nearby #-o There's some BLM land to the sets called the "Clear Creek Management area" that May or may not have some cub tracks on

If you look at the house to the south of the strip....then keep going a couple hundred yards before you hit the river you'll see an X that marks the beginning of a nw/se runway as well.

Totally different area but this is north of Shelter Cove. I think Kevin said to be careful as that's drug country!

What an incredible spot! It looks like there are white "Rs" next to both of those strips. It's fun to look at the sattelite view, just to drool. I wouldn't land there, myself, without permission or a real deal emergency.

That one looks like it's got an old T hangar on the north end.

See if you can find some without green houses on the property. :P :D

Is it just me or is there a group of people walking on the runway?

Re: Uncharted California Airstrips

Might as well add the strips from my other thread. This one is called Paradise Flat, or so I'm told. I've heard unsubstantiated reports of a red mooney landing there. A slightly slower red airplane has also landed there. Confirmed.

Adding this one because it's uncharted. This one is in friendly territory though. Red Hills.

Yeah, looks like some people for sure.

It looks like the area is called Miller Flats and is in King Range National Conservation Area (at least according to one of the pictures)

I saw that one right after I started this thread. There is a lot of California Condor wildlife study areas in the vicinity. I wonder if the Blue Sky Ranch got it's air ops shut down because of the big buzzards.

Checked the BLM site and this is wilderness area so no landing I guess. Although, the strip on the south side of the creek appears to have a small strip of "not wilderness" that it sits in. My guess is no landing though.
