Re: Uncommon airplanes

They aren't that rare but I always wanted a Republic Seabee. Something about anchor storage under the seat and a front door to fish out of just sounds right to me!

Uncommon airplanes

I suspect this 24 is for sale. Of course almost any airplane is for sale at the right price.

Haven't gotten a ride in her yet but inspected her a couple of times during the restoration. Nice.

The one I got to fly is For Sale on www.Barnstormers.com right now.
Been a long time since I flew it, bet it needs some work by now.

Re: Uncommon airplanes

The nicest Fairchild 24 I got to play with had a Jacobs 245 and a 2B-20 on it. That made a real airplane out of it! The Warners always sound like they have something caught in their throat...and often do. In order to make it look "right" ya gotta enlarge the firewall just a bit to fit a "bamboo bomber" cowl, but that's easy, since the firewall is a circle to start with. Sure makes a heck of an airplane out of it!
But that's not my favorite Fairchild by far........
