Upgrade engine questions

Still looking for a 182 right now. At this point, I'm still educating myself with engine options. I want something over and above the 230 HP from the 0-470 as I'll be operating on floats. Two questions;

1. I'm up to speed on the PPONK (thanks Russ) - is the Texas Skyways 0-520 essentially the same and does it perform similar to PPONK? Any disadvantages of Texas over PPONK?
2. Can someone tell me about the STC to increase the RPM on the 0-470U from 2400 to 2650 on takeoff for an additional 30HP?

Couple of good questions I don't believe I've heard discussed here much. I'll be looking forward to the some discussion on these two questions, too :-k

I've heard about increasing the RPM to 2650. But I didn't know there was an STC involved. I was told it was a simple adjustment on the governor.

ive been told there is an stc, but just paperwork but im also getting conflicting reports on HP gain. Hear 20-30 HP and heard there is a time limit at higher rpm?? :?:
