Utah Desert this Weekend Looks Awesome

Can't take it any longer! Denise and I are getting out of the cabin and heading to Southern Utah for Sat - Mon (Mar10-12). Weather looks great. Highs about 60, no wind, and we just won't talk about the lows! Probably go to our favorite camping spot, Mexican Mountain and set up camp, then explore a few other strips from there. Maybe hamburgers on the grill for lunch at Happy Canyon. Anybody else got the fever?

We'll be out and around that way-ish tomorrow, but we'll be working. We may stop by Mineral Canyon in the afternoon, depending on how our schedule works out.

The Utah strips are in great shape right now. We hit Happy this last weekend and did an overnight hike to the narrows. Great weather but it was a tad windy in the afternoons with ripping winds above 9K. I will likely be buzzing around down there again this weekend... its a perfect time of year for the Utah backcountry. Enjoy it!

Nice.
I'll be climbing in the area as well if I can get my cowl flap hinge riveted back on. I knew it was a tad loose, but the darned thing was barely hanging on at all!

You talking rock climbing? Is there a strip you fly into? Climbing is a sure fire way to lure my wife into the plane for a weekend of flying...I mean climbing.

Angel Point. Several interesting short/medium hikes around, some with rappels, and a few places along the way that are fun to boulder around in if so inclined.

Looks like the wind may kick up on the weekend so I'm now looking at Thursday night for an overnight most likely at Mineral Canyon. Breakfast on Friday morning in Moab.

All the rock climbers seem to hang out on the set @ Ibex Hardpan..and you can land a 747 out there.

Sorry we missed each other! More better coordination methinks! Conditions were perfect on Thursday and Friday and thankfully we came back on Friday because it all went to hell on Saturday - big time.
Had the TIME OF MY LIFE on Thursday and Saturday.....
