Utah in October?

Hi all,

I get a friend from Germany coming over mid of October and I'ld like to show him a little bit around. I was planning to fly up to Monument Valley from here (KALM) and continue to Caveman Ranch. From there I would like to explore a little bit more of the area. Besides Mineral Canyon, Happy Canyon, Angelpoint, Rustler Canyon what else would be worth a visit. I did read the Fry Canyon is worth it?!?!
Is October maybe already to late for a visit in Utah?

Thanks

Georg

Re: Utah in October?

I've never been to southern Utah in October but we are planing to go this year. If we have the new plane we will go by air if not then we will drive and beat up my pickup on some more trails.

I've always heard Moab is awesome in October.

Re: Utah in October?

October in Southern Utah is perfect! Best time to fly down there. We even hit Fry Canyon in November and it was warm enough during the day for shorts when hiking. Nice smooth, thick air all day long. The leaves at Mexican Mountain don't really start to change until late October / early November. Monument Valley is a great place to go, and so is Fry Canyon, Caveman, Rockland Ranch, Happy Canyon, Dirty Devil, etc. etc. Let us know when you're in town and we'll meet up somewhere and explore.
