OK looks like its gonna happen on 01/15 weather permitting.

Plan on leaving U34 next tuesday in the AM.
If anybody is up for it they are welcome to tag along.

I am figuring 2 days to FL coast

Have a great trip! Wish I was going. Hope you post some picture of the trip.

Might be worth checking on the port of entry you plan to use to come back into the US to make sure it isn’t affected by the shutdown.

Thanks Whee.

Good thought I just called customs at Fort Pierce. They are operating as normal.

Well, I'm still not gone yet.

Looks like a possible weather window on saturday hopefully.

I will just have to head east between storms!

Re: Utah to the Bahamas or BUST!

Made it out on Saturday following a big storm across the country. I overnighted in Ardmore OK. Got in about 530 and the place was deserted. Wind was about 30 out of the north. I found a tie down next to a hangar to secure the plane. Called the number on the FBO door and got access to a courtesy car. Overnighted at the Best Western and Self serve fueled in the AM ($3.80) and headed for Florida.
Stoped in Fort Pierce For the night and Headed for Bimini in the morining to clear customs. Then off to Dead Mans Cay. Leaving this morning for Treasure Cay for a few days. :D

For real. Some of us are still stuck back in the Rockies in another snowstorm... Beach pics will help!

Re: Utah to the Bahamas or BUST!

Soon after I arrived I realized I screwed up.
I should have given up comfort and speed for utility.
Should have brought the Cub for some beach landings!
(maybe next time)
My first stop after clearing customs in Bimini was Staniel Cay to meet up with a friend who arrived a few days before.
We had lunch at the Yacht Club. I tried the Conch Po Boy, maybe its an acquired taste?
As soon as the food came out to the table flies started swarming around

I heard that they had burned the dump displacing all the flies on the island.
