V35B Avionics Madness...

So I've taken the plunge to upgrade my bird to ADS-B In and Out... I figure it's never going to get any cheaper, so I might as well get it done... Really fun process to pick out and design my panel... These pic's don't show all the goodies... I'll add pics of them as they are installed...

Here is the panel we started with:

Here is the panel coming apart:

Here is the new stack that's going in:

Powered up for the first time:

Avionics starting to get programmed:

What is not installed at this point is the Angerol iPad yoke mount and the G796 3 1/8 mount that will go in the 3 1/8 hole just to the right of the stack. Both of these will be driven by a Garmin 39 GDL-3D for ADS-B in. I really like the mounts! Here are a couple of pics:

Here is the iPad Mini yoke mount - Crazy quality!

Can't wait until the rest is installed!

Looks great Jim. Is the 796 mount from Angerol as well? That looks pretty slick.

Yeah - The 796 mount fits into the 3 1/8 hole just to the right of the radio stack. As I said above, it will be direct wired from the GDL-39 3D and will receive flight plans from the WAAS 480's. The 796 and the iPad mini will have terrain, ADSB-B out traffic, weather and synthetic vision. Nav 1 will drive the HSI and Nv 2 will drive the GI-106 - Both will be coupled to the auto-pilot.

Can't wait to try it all out!

There are a few other kinda cool things I'm doing. The passenger headset jacks are going in the ashtrays; I'll have dual Glide-slopes with the HSI and GI-106a; Put in a digital Tach; the space below the radio stack will have a 2.1amp USB charger and phone/music in; The 480's and A/P will fly VA's, approaches, procedure turns, etc; I'm really excited to see it all work. Will be a learning curve as compared to the old flip-flops and outdated CDI I had. I also am replacing all the lights with LED's, including the strobe. I should look like a freaken christmas tree coming into land...

The avionics tech thinks he pulled out 35lbs of old wire and avionics that were installed but not used.

Curious to see my new W&B...
