Vargas Island Trip Saturday

A bunch of us are going to Vargas Island tomorrow Saturday May 9th. We are planning on being there about 11am. Low tide is 11:15 and a 1.2ft tide. Open invitation for anyone interested. Should be a lot of fun.

Thanks for the invite, I had fun. I should have taken a photo of all the planes, but I failed.

Cool! I was out on Nootka Island on Wednesday and saw those two sweet Vagabonds at Chilliwack on Thursday.

Are there any spots to taxi above high tide to camp on Vargas Island?

I counted 15 airplanes and one helicopter. The Navion had the fanciest fold-up bbq table and did the best shoot-up. Best bathing suit was the blue bikini.

No no no, you can't say something like that and then not post a photo!

BTW I've probably asked you this before Daedalus, but did your 170 used to be owned by a Seattle-area guy named Jim that flew for NW Seaplanes?

Are those 8.50's under that 170? I seem to be missing a set from my basement that look suspiciously similiar  !

Thats them! They have been great, I do lot of pavement and just switched them around. I have got my Goodyears retreaded to put back on soon. I did fly in a Cub with a set of Goodyear 26s though, and they looked like the next step up:)

Did you mention before that you were gonna get them recapped smooth? Curious as to the final price, & if it involved shipping your tires to the recapper or if they just used their own cores.
FWIW I have a set of (treaded, probably Desser) recapped GY 850's on my 180 and they seem to be holding up great.
