Interesting approach to takeoff for a float plane. I wonder how the plane got there originally?
Maybe it arrived on wheels and had the float conversion done? In any case, the lift off is very cool.

Neat! Pretty standard maneuver, although I don't think the entourage of vehicles was necessary! Sometimes they land in the grass next to the runway.

That's how I got mine in and out for annuals. Land in the dirt, take off on the trailer.

I used to have quite a few land on the grass. Not a biggie. We did the dolly thing, and the trailer thing...both work. The only thing I hated about the trailer would be getting out of the way if things started going wrong.... We had the best luck and safest job by hooking a small loop over the back of a bow cleat and pulling with a pickup off the grass. Much easier for all to get out of the way if anything ever happened. Used that system on J3's to Otters...works great!
