Vitus lake cabin Alaska. Have u been?

Not necessarily information about airstrips or airports, but more general info about a greater area or a route of flight.

Vitus lake cabin Alaska. Have u been?

My wife booked the Vitus lake cabin, one of the DNR cabins, for a few days this summer. Has anyone ever been there? I have intel that the airstrip is good nuff but thats about it. It is between Cordova and Yakutat.

We had it reserved last year. Airstrip looked good, but the x-wind was too gnarly so we went elsewhere. The strip is a bit of a hike from the cabin. Had I landed, (and being a bit lazy) I would have just pitched my tent under the wing. Beautiful country indeed!

Thanks for the info!!!

I have always wanted to stay at the other two cabins but have always been reluctant to park my airplane on the beech overnight.... Maybe i need to get over it.
