Waldo Lake issue moves toward resolution

Last night the Oregon State Marine Board voted 4-1 to exempt float planes from the current ban on Waldo Lake. Read the story here.

Next is the Aviation Board consideration of operating rules which we have proposed to them since the joint meeting on April 6th. More information will be forthcoming. Please go the the Columbia Seaplane Pilots Association in the coming days for more information as it develops. www.c-spa.org

Re: Waldo Lake issue moves toward resolution

Good job, Bill. Thanks for your work on this.

This is interesting:
While all the correspondence the Marine Board had received in the last few weeks overwhelmingly favored continuing the ban, testimony Tuesday at the Willamalane Center was more divided.

This issue is a little confusing, because the hearing also addressed the matter of powered boats on the lake, not just floatplanes. So while the majority of the opposition probably was responding to their own rally for letter-writing, they group floatplanes in with power boats. I'm glad to see the OSMB apparently sees the issue as clearly as we do.
