Washington DOT Copalis State Airport meeting

I just got this email from WSDOT. It should be of interest to those of us who use Copalis airport.

WSDOT invites public to comment on State-Managed Airports Handbook at Copalis meeting

OCEAN SHORES – The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation is hosting a public meeting to receive input on the State-Managed Airports Handbook. The handbook, which is currently being developed, will document policies, performance measures, and guidelines for the maintenance and operation of the 17 state-managed airports.

What: State-Managed Airports Handbook Public Meeting

When: Tuesday, September 22, 2009 / 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: North Beach Junior / Senior High School, School Library, 336 State Route 115, Ocean Shores, WA 98569 / School Contact: 360-289-2447

During the meeting, the public will learn more about the:

* State-managed airports system
* Key facts about Copalis Beach Airport
* Development of the handbook
* Draft guidelines

Through a facilitated discussion the public will be able to provide comment on the handbook and proposed guidelines pertaining to Copalis Beach State Airport, or any of the other state-managed airports. This input will help to shape the draft handbook, which will be available for a 30-day public comment period beginning on September 22, 2009.

WSDOT will host additional public meetings to receive input on the handbook at other state-managed airports in the coming weeks. Please visit www.wsdot.wa.gov/aviation/WSDOTManagedAiportsStudy.htm for updated meeting schedules and announcements.

For more information, please contact Paul Wolf, WSDOT State Airports Manager, at 360-651-6313.
