Watermarked photos

Hey guys. A lot of you take amazing pictures, and some of you have them watermarked. I am wondering how you go about watermarking them. Do you require a special editing program?
Thanks

Re: Watermarked photos

It is easy to do with Adobe Photoshop. I just add a text layer and then reduce the opacity of the text. I then save it as a jpeg file which flattens the image and makes the watermark permanent.

Hope this helps.
