I'm generally leery of non pilots running our affairs. I wonder if any non-doctor has ever been nominated as Surgeon General? Anybody know this guy?

Marion Blakely was not a pilot either. The only notable changes during her tenure were the Sport Pilot rule and the 5 year 3rd class medical for those under 40.

I tend to agree, the administrator should be required to have either a pilot or controller background.
