[quote="AvidFlyer"]Sweet it seems airplanes and classic cars go hand in hand. Thanks for everyones replies! Here's a few of the small issues I'm having with the car.
The speedo is WAY off. This thing seems fast off the line and revs pretty high at 65mph on the GPS so I'm thinking the rear end may not be stock. I tried the ol driveshaft vs wheel turns truck and it was almost right at 2:1 which makes no sense as the lowest Ford rear end was 2.80:1. I want to get the speedo reading back somewhat to close and need to know what speedo gear to get to fix it. The tires are a little taller than stock too.
The next one is the 64 1/2 had a pressure switch for the brake lights. After a power disc brake conversion the stock pressure switch is obsolete. I want to convert it to a 65 plunger set up but there's about 4 different pedal set ups on all the Stang sites and been having issues getting a good parts list.
sted this on Allfordmustangs.com the other good looking Mustang forum (Vintage Mustang Forums) requires a paying membership. Haven't gotten too much traffic there.
Did both tires turn the same direction with the rear end off the ground? I assume not since you only got 2:1. Lift ONE tire off the ground and put the transmission in neutral. Now, turn the tire and the driveshaft will spin at half the gear ratio (2.8:1 will be 1.4 driveshaft rotations per one tire rotation). It's easier if the rear is locked because with it jacked up both tires will spin the same direction, making it easier to count driveshaft rotations vs tire rotations.
This website has a calculator to aid you in getting the correct gear
http://www.sccoa.com/faq/speedgr.htmlI changed my brake switch when I added 2010 GT brakes by putting the switch on the pedal like 65s had. Ford used the same brake switch in mustangs until at least 93, so you should be able to get one pretty easily

All you need to do is cut the brake switch wiring on the inside of the firewall for the original pressure switch and add connectors for your new switch. The switch is a bolt on mod and requires no drilling of the brake pedal.
