We remember

Hope this isn't a re-post. Somehow it really rings true to me.

Re: We remember

Great video... My wife's 92 yr old grand father was a Lancaster pilot and was shot down on his 3rd mission over Poland. He gained the trust of some farmers and lived underground for 1 year before escaping...great story...read the book! but this video touches a string inside that makes you want to hug them all... especially when I look at the life my kids are living... Thanks for the post =D>

Yea, we've all seen the airplanes, but seeing the old men now who did such amazing things then is what really rings my bell. By buddy's dad had just moved into assisted living and had come across his old jacket...it still fit him perfectly. We persuaded him to wear out out for Sunday breakfast...what a stir...the looks and smiles. An active duty pilot (UAVs...does that count?) came over, shook his hand and chatted him up. It gave him a little boost, but he knew what he had done. 34 missions, two crash landings and now he was having breakfast with his grown son and some friends. What a life!
