Hey all, the Internet is nasty place these days for anyone trying to keep a website running. For years, BCP has used Cloudflare as a security layer to help protect us from hackers, bots, overwhelming traffic attacks...you name it. It uses traffic analysis to determine if traffic is malicious, using parameters like geographic origin, network identifiers, and other voodoo stuff.

Sometimes, honest traffic is falsely caught in the net. If you see the "blocked" page it's likely not targeting you specifically, but some other characteristic of your traffic origin.

Use of VPNs is a big one. So much of our malicious traffic arrives via VPNs. For this reason, I have blocked many of them. If you're seeing the "blocked" page, try toggling your VPN off then reloading.

I just working with a user who was using the Brave browser—a privacy-centric browser that can stop tracking and loading of ads—but can use integrated private traffic routing over a VPN. Your mileage may vary when trying to access BCP.

You can reach out to me if you have issues with being blocked that aren't solved by turning off your VPN. I'm not targeting anyone, just trying to minimize malicious traffic, fight off bots, and prevent the site crashing from the recent wave of AI-crawler traffic.

It is also not lost on me that those who might blocked won't see this post, but it will help others answer the question if it comes up while struggling for conversation at the urinals.
