We are getting pounded by snow here at the foot of the Sierras. How is everyone else faring?
Forecast is for heavy snow for the next week solid.
I love this for skiing, for flying it's not so great.

Went to work and plowed snow for 12 hours on Thursday. What we got was knee deep of that wet heavy stuff that freezes solid. When you go out in the morning, you can walk across the top of it.
We’ve still got snow on the ground from Thanksgiving, in SoCal?

Light snow and sleet, temp in the 30-40's on Christmas day.
Great weather in the 70's since.
My grass strip dried out in 2 days and have been flying the Cub every day. More ideal weather forecast for another week.

2 1/2 feet here at my house in NW Reno. Snow management is becoming a serious issue.

With the 25" that fell here last Sunday and Monday it brings the total to 185" of snow for the year...50" of hard pack on the ground.. No one around here is complaining, our normal yearly average is 325".

Here in Alameda, CA, it's just plain wet and I can't fly. It's starting to get old.
Cheers

It's gonna be a while before we get this road open again.
This time it was all rain and no snow.
Our lake (7mi. long X 1.5 mi. wide) went up 7 feet in 2 days.

Jr.CubBuilder wrote:Well heck, the temps here in Eastern WA were in the teens and twenties. So since this is my first winter with my own airplane I went ahead and bought myself a red dragon to preheat the motor with. I fired it up last night and it looked like I was ready to take it out to the airport as soon as we had a nice clear day. The I got up this morning................. it was 38F now it's in the low 40s and melting fast
