What are the biggest tires that will fit a PA-28?

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

What are the biggest tires that will fit a PA-28?

I've been tossing around the idea of putting the Airglas nose fork on my Cherokee, and would like to put 26" Goodyears on the mains. Anybody know if the Goodyears will fit the mains without rubbing the gear legs?

If the 8.50x10 fit, then I would assume 29x10s would fit as well. I don't think they stick out anymore than the 8.50s.

This thread is dangerous to my pocketbook.

Though I do like being able to use my wheelpants because they keep the mud off the rest of the plane.

If I remember right there is some sort of drama surrounding the removal of the nose wheel fairing on the Cherokee - Six, not sure about the PA28 though. Perhaps the Landis Fork mod addresses that?

Lee's Sea Air in Kiana has been using 8.50's on their Cherokee Six for as long as I've known 'em.

The Airglas fork for Pipers requires an 8.00, anybody know if an 8.50 will fit in the fork? It looks like from the pictures that people have taken the fairings off the main gear struts. Maybe clearance issues?
