What fire extinguisher are you flying with?
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
I have Halon. You'd be foolish to have a dry chemical, it's worse than nothing.

Halon blend. Halatron is good too but wasn't easily available to me up here at the time.

Halon or halon blend...Mine is mounted on the frame of my seat just under the cushion in front. The charge guage is also one of the things I check at each annual.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
Just a question to all,
Have you or has anyone you know ever used a fire ex. in an air plane while in flight? I know of a few on start up but have never met anyone who has used one in flight! I'm talking one of our 2/4/6 place singles that fly around in the BC.
I have a fire Ex in the Hangar and that is as close as it gets to the airplane.

Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,
I used one on start up at Johnson Creek and glad it wasn't in the hanger. It was out within 15 seconds and did no damage but bubble the paint, about a quarter in size, on the bottom of the cowling. It was a chemical one, and it had no problem putting it out quick.
