What is this half-built homebuilt plane in this photo?

My friend sent me this picture and says this is at an auction. No further information, nor does anyone know anything about it.

Obviously, it's someone's abandoned project, but does anyone know what it is or if it has any value in its current state? Or is it junk?

Wings do not pivot and the bottom shape on the rudder isn't right.

Any other ideas? Any value If it's cheap enough? It sells with no reserve...

There's no name or data plate anywhere but someone stuck a 2014 idaho registration sticker on it. Strange.

Re: What is this half-built homebuilt plane in this photo?

It's not a ridge runner. get a copy of Kitplanes magazine annual kit and plans built issues. The key points of this airframe to look for, for a comparison is, a deep camber airfoil, truncated tips and, lift strut attachment points that are at the ends of the leading and trailing edge. This is where the spars are, much like the Rans designs. I was thinking J3 kitten , Hipps reliant, but they have more of a conventional spar placement.
Barring all that. Value is in the eye of the beholder. It might be worthwhile as a project anyway. Take a close look at it. check the welds, do they look consistent or production quality. Look in the wings. Use a tape measure and check the square of the wing tips to points on the fuselage. Check the square of the top frame. if they come in close, it's probably worthwhile putting a bid in. What is the value to you, of a nearly completed welded steel airframe that is covered. Conversely if the measurements are out of wack and the welds look like crap, Then its basically worthless.

I do not want to be a "downer" but, it looks to small to support human flight with any comfort. Flight should be fun and comfortable (Opinion).

The trailing edge looks like it has flapperons hangers, possibly making it an early Kitfox Lite.

Pretty sure it is an older "Belite" ultralight.
Still in business.

It ended up selling for $650. I didn't buy it.
