Music will always be the one subjective thing that someone can criticize, and there's always someone who will dislike your music. I've stopped putting music on my videos, because I realized how other people feel once I watched their videos with their shitty countrytonk music. :) I think the music with the most broad appeal is the hum of the engine and prop, unfortunately many cameras like the GoPro don't have the best audio quality and are easily blown out.

Hey Zane, I think I've found some of your videos... You've got a few flying around in N599CC correct? Nice stuff if so!

Yeah I sometimes take that Sport Cub out. I flew it to the BCP fly-in in Idaho last year. Nice little plane, but it's seen a rough life already as a trainer and it's only 3 years old. Also, it's kind of like finding a nice girlfriend that you really enjoy, but then you can't help but feel some jealousy when you see photos on the internet of other guys out on dates with her. As one of only 3 taildraggers for rent within 80 miles, I think she gets ridden quite a bit.

Some of us actually like the sound of a sitar. And I'll swear it has nothing to do with having lived in Oregon. The real hippies were 40 miles south of me! At least that's my story and I'm stickin' to it! 8-[

Very cool, maybe we can hook up someday and take 599CC out for some fun if ya ever want someone to split cost or something. Supposedly there is a Husky or something for rent in Lebanon for like $75hr or something cheap like that. Need to go get checked out in that!

Yeah, I'm getting my tail-wheel endorsement in it right now, I just need one more decent crosswind day and I'll be signed off. Now I just sit and wait until we get a day with the right conditions, which hopefully will happen soon and I'll be good to go! So just Let me know if ya ever wanna get out.

Bought myself a little toy the other day, having a bit of fun with my mate... we went and did some air shots with him in his Auster.

Funky looking little bird there. Looks like fun. No worries of a prop strike with it way back up there, either. :-D

Re: Where did you fly today?

Still the work week for me, you guys at JC are slackers!: Today I had to fly over a hundred miles into a very remote area to do a little trouble shooting on a solar powered water pumping system for livestock.Image The sage brush in this area varies from 5' high to ankle high, with some scattered big rocks. I circled for 10 minutes, no hurry, and picked my spot carefully as I want to go to JC this weekend, not spend it here. ImageThe breeze was a tailwind for landing uphill, or a headwind if landing down slope #-o I'll take upslope almost every time. The area upstream of the site is just more remoteness, leading up into 10 to 11K peaks, I need to overnight the area sometime and mountainbike the dirt road until it ends, it looks incredibly intriguing.Image On the way back home I spotted this odd scene, in a very tall hay field a single deer and what appeared to be a single sandhill crane, I have always seen them in pairs. They were just standing there looking at each other, maybe they were just stunned at the height of the hay crop? Maybe the crane was pondering his takeoff run. Image Then I had to haul ass back into town for a crane job, more work

Shoot, that ain't bad. They get about $140/hour for a plain old C172 (not even one of the new series) at my airport & it probably only cost about 1/3 or even 1/4 what that sportcub did. And I can guarantee ya that the insurance is a lot cheaper.

Upslope, with a tail wind, in a narrow area that only had brush knee high at most. My favorite kind of landing site, in that once landed and walked, it looked bettter then I'd thought from the air. This is preferable then the opposite, cheaper too. There were hummocks, or mounds, scattered around that hosted much taller brush, and the bigger rocks were also there, interesting geology as it was naturally occurring.Image

Re: Where did you fly today?

Landed at Santiam Junction and McKenzie Bridge today. There was a new windsock at Santiam Junction so at least someone is is sorta taking care of it. Be careful the gravel on the south side of the runway is SOFT if you have stock tires!

Re: Where did you fly today?

Worked as ground crew for Young Eagles flights at Pocatello Airport Appreciation Day today. Seeing how much those kids enjoy their (usually) first flight in a small airplane, and for some, their first time being in an airplane really is awesome. My sport pilot flight instructor let me fly right seat in his Cessna 150 down there and back, so at least I got some flying in, even if I can't log it! Forgot the camera though. :(
