Where in Idaho to land for groceries?

We'll be at MacKay Bar for a couple of days, then we're going camping at Moose Creek. Any recommendations for airports to land that are convenient for buying groceries (have courtesy car and good market)? Salmon, McCall? I know that Hamilton has both courtesy car and a good market (and great FBO), but if there is a closer destination, I'd prefer it.

Any suggestions?

Walk accross the street from the FBO at McCall and there is a shopping center...groc, Radio Shack, motels, etc...

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.

Re: Where in Idaho to land for groceries?

Most folks seem to go to McCall, but I have found that Cascade is a little farther away, but worth the extra time. Really nice folks run the FBO, cheaper fuel, and a courtesy car. Couple mile drive to town.

I like McCall, and the stores will have a better selection cuz they are bigger, but if you do go to Cascade, you should be able to find most anything you want.

It's a n ice walk down ino the town of McCall with some good places for snacks.

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

If your headed to Moose Cr. Grangeville(Idaho County) has 2 courtesy cars. There are 2 markets to chose from with most everything. If you like old airplanes there is even a Dc-4 parked here to walk around for about a month. I think 100LL was around 4.20 last I checked......

I'd say exactly what Gary said above. Cascade usually has cheaper fuel, too.

And Grangeville is on your way to Moose Creek, so you won't be back tracking to McCall.

Hello,
If you are going to be flying into Moose Creek, I'd recomend Kooskia, Idaho. Your route is probably flying over the Clearwater River up highway 12 to Moose Creek and you will fly right over Kooskia. The airport is a nice grass strip located right in town.

The grocrery store is within walking distance, maybe a 1/4 mile. Check out the mural on the side of the store my Father in Law painted it. The store also has a great meat department and a liquor store too. What else could a guy want? Good luck.
