Who is in for a party?

No more hocus pocus on who does what...

We have a lot of beer (more than you can drink), a lot of tequila and more legal places to land than one cant count (we built another strip tonight). Fire pits, you name it. You just need to show up with you tent.

Thinking this weekend or next. Weather on the west coast looks good. Would be great to get a few folks down to our neck of the woods here in the Sierra's. Lowrider and I were talking today (splashpilot as well...he just doesnt know it yet) that it needs to happen. We seriously have at least 25 different places to land and have a great time. All between 600-1200' off airport. I am betting we can even get the great Gump to come out (given he is so close).

Anyone interested? We will also get to the bottom of this flaps or no flaps thing along with having a whole lot of fun......

Just putting it out there. We would love to see you guys down here.

Aktahoe and Lowrider...oh yeah...Splashpilot too

Well, there is a whole lot of hootin and a hoolerin going on here,
All sorts of BS about beer and burgers, beans and Tequila plus lots of new "airports." with wild amenities.
Problem as I see it is that all this braggadocio has yet to regurgitate and mumble anything about a location\. Where the schmuck ya plannin all this to take place? At least meet for starters.
I would guess somewhere east of Tahoe in restrictive confines of Nevada.

May be goin to Hayfork on Sat.

Hmm

Re: Who is in for a party?

Gump gets his plane back next week so we are thinking the 13-14th starting out in Truckee, camping at our ranch 1500' grass strip 10 minutes north of Truckee (close to Nerivo/Beckworth). From there we have around 15 strips in a 30 minute loop. If we were to go south from Truckee toward Carson/Minden/Bridgeport we have another 10-15 at least.

Lots of options. We just getting interest now. Seems like it would be a good time!

Re: Who is in for a party?

Sounds fun, but your 30 minute loop would be more like an hour an a half for me... ha ha... If there's some more slow pokes, I'll try to make it.

Track My Spot

Re: Who is in for a party?

Two of us plan to fly either Nevada, including several hot springs, or Red Rock Utah this weekend, depending on best weather. Didn't know there were that many strips around Truckee. Would like to check them out. Could we fly into your place? What kind of notice might you want? We are out of SoCal High desert.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Who is in for a party?

Hey Bill- No notice needed. I think the weather is going to be sour this weekend here. 60mph winds over the ridge tops with snow on Monday.

Looking at the following weekend starting out in truckee around 10 am or so. Will post more on it as we get closer.

Coyote - we found two spots today that were VERY tempting. Wish I had a cub but...maybe they will be open by the time you get out here. Several cubs here in Truckee doing the slow lap. But who flies fast anyhow. Low and slow is the way we go. We have one in-particular we have been looking at that resembles mile high very much so....Only this one sits at 8900'. We will keep looking at if for now. Need to take the moto up to have a better look and move some rocks maybe...

Gump,

My concern with the new engine is torque roll on take-off and your ability to keep the rubber side down!

Kevin,
The weather is moving southward and may even ruin out trip to Nevada/Utah this week end. If the weather is better for the following weekend, we may fly to Truckee to check you flying party.
