United Press International wrote:"He became extremely aggressive and abusive," team representative Frikkie Erasmus told the Cape Town Argus. "That's when one of the Stormers calmed him down with a good klap

What's a klap? Cue gonorrhea joke.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Klap-klapper

Have to remember most of these lads are Afrikaners and Afrikaans is a little like Dutch.

I am guessing the klap they gave this guy had more to do with the clapper on a bell than anything social.

This guys are in the 220lb to 265lb range, so it was probably quite a "klap".

I lived in Perth for a long time and have played rugby with these folks, they are serious and love to have a good old time. Pain is part of it, so is beer.

The slogan used was"give blood, play rugby". I had several members of the Irish and Scottish national team that worked for me. It was a very interesting time.

Have you noticed that most ruggers tape their ears down during a game, that is not for fun, but to keep their ears intact. If you were ever in a scrum, you would know that a klap is not a fun thing.

I think it is a great story and there should be more of this type of calming influence with people that get out of hand on planes.
