It is true the car is actually going Southeast on a highway that parallels the river. It is an optical illusion. They built a new bridge just on the other side of this one. When I first saw this video I thought there was traffic on the other bridge while they blew this one. Not so.

The other thing of interest is the thousands of pigeons that flew out of there at the end of the video. There was another demolition explosion two weeks later. The animal lovers made them get the birds out first. The explosion made cuts, cleaner than a cutting torch simultaneously (thank God for spell check) at strategic points. The pieces were then hoisted out of the water. Cool.

So much for the old saying, " believe none of what you hear and half of what you see", with advent of digital editing that only applies to in person sightings half the time!
