Jim - that's news to me. Do they move the bagage door back any to miss that "bar" that is in the road now? John

John:
I didnt ask about the baggage door. I think the TC calls out for it at a certain station. I am thinking about adding it in the future. Dan at ACA is a wealth of info on these mods, and says they have some more in the works as well. I am just looking for more room back there for sleeping bags/snowshoes kind of stuff. Is the door mod actually big enough to put stuff thru? I looked at one at OshKosh a couple yrs back and remember it being sorta on the small side.

I actually have two scouts. The late model has the door mod and compared to not having it, it is great! Door is big enough, but large square things are hard to put in because of the frame.
I am restoring my old ('74) scout and just last week welded in the baggage door kit. Well worth it if you ever spent a month living out of crawling over the back seat every time you need something.

I dunno, but it looks to me like a Scout might take off and land pretty short, whattya think??

Joe Sr.,
We know they can do that stuff but most don't play with them like your crowd does. Nice pic.

Yeah, no kidding... Why is that guy taking off 90 degrees to the strip. That airplane should be able to outclimb that little hill. I know the mighty C172-TD with the overpowered O-300 Continental I'm driving today would make short work of the entire situation if'n that was me.... I'd fire the beast up, slam the throttle, get up to about 10 knots indicated, and pee my pants just about the time I went kersplash into the water.
Cool picture by the way.

That don't look like no 700 feet to me. And it was all wierd, he like......pulled in flap AS he rotated. What the? It gave the illusion that a Scout could actually PERFORM! in the right hands. How does he keep it straight (or curved in this case) down the runway WHILE he moves his flap arm?
It must be airbrushed, or smoke and mirrors.

Yeah, I bet every baby CFI and flatlander out there out there is foaming at the mouth, muttering how that kind of flying is dangerous and against the laws of physics, and that the FAA should make a new law or two against it!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joe Sr.,
Was that picture taken on the Death Star? Those canyon walls being that sheer remind me of R2D2 riding around behind Luke Skywalker in an X-wing fighter defending the Rebels.
Is that an X-wing Scout or just an X-rated Scout? What kind of helicopter did American Champion lease to drop that Scout there for the photo shoot? It really looks so life like.
By the way, I waved at you the other day (only you couldn't see me) as I went from Orovada to Milford,UT. It was cold down there.

It has been cold, and a lot more snow this year than the last few, and a lot earlier.... Might be time to start lookin for skis for Ugly...
Well I guess we've all beat this ol dead horse long enough about who's butt's the dirtiest, and I think that Wilber summed it up way before we got here.......

Myself, I'd fly anything, even a Butt, Coyote Ugly Cub,... or a Brand New, Shiny, Scout Loaded with Every Control but Birth Control.
