Wind Erosion Caused by Prop Blast

Anyone see the
Wind Erosion blurb on page 6 of the April IAA Flyline? Some interesting points but I'm not sure I agree with the authors overall view. No matter what we do the departure end of any strip is going to show signs of wear; even the grass at the departure end of JC starts to get a little thin by mid summer. I'm all for being a good steward but I think not landing because I might blow some dirt away or might have to use a j-turn is going a little far. The techniques used to protect the prop will also help reduce wear on the runway IMO.
Not meaning to flame the author, just wondering what everyone else's take is.

When does soil erosion become a hole and a hazard of it own? At some point this will have to be let to heal or be repaired. Who will make that determination and will another option be to close it? I don't suggest to even know the answers to this so I am asking.
I am thinking his photo and article started a discussion that needs to take place, whatever direction it takes and it is better to be part of that earlier rather than later.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.
