WING X questions
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
I know that many 180 - 185's have the Wing X mod. I saw an ad the other day for a 172 with Wing X ? Is that legal? The only reason I ask is I have never seen or heard of it before. Do any of you know someone wiht a 170 or 172 with the Wing X mod on their plane? Looking for more info.

My understanding is that it's legal in Canada, with a gross weight increase. They've been trying to get the FAA to certify it in the US with the weighty increase with little luck. I dont know if they've given up on the gw increase and certified it in the US yet.

Humor may not make the world go around, but it certainly cheers up the process...

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).
Success has many fathers...... Failure is an orphan.
Yep, still not approved in US. Theyve been trying for a while, and I do believe they'd be the best thing since sliced bread for a 170/172.
Hope the FAA eventually approves this. I'll be in line shortly after.

I contacted them a couple months ago by email and got a reply back that they are working on STC approval in the US for the 170/172 and should be ready in 6 months. I'm not holding my breath though.

I bet they are. I'm thinking that would be huge for them (WingXStol).
