Worth a watch, early attempts of flight

This popped up today, and with bad weather, no snow, and no work today i had nothing better to day then click on it. NOT the same old ones we've seen many times, though they are in there also. Many of these "aircraft" were new to me anyway. Think of these guys the next time you climb in your plane, crank the starter and fly off for a breakfast somewhere. =D> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9Yww9LG3gw

That was a time when people could build things, at least.

If only they had built the right sorts of things...

Re: Worth a watch, early attempts of flight

I've seen many of the clips elsewhere, many times, but what surprised me was the ones I had NEVER seen before.
The guy in the glider, who was getting ready to get shoved off the cliff, and then the camera pans down and shows how gnarly it is.....and then the absolute worse happens, wow! But he's OK! That was my fav, never saw that before.
Just watched it again, and it seemed that all of the most horrific crashes showed the pilot jumping up immediately and waving his hands in the "I'm OK" signal, tough bastards.
