Has anyone tried out the woven vinyl flooring from SCS? With the amount of sand I track in to the plane in the summer, and how hard it is to clean it out of, and from under, the carpet (no matter how many times I wipe down or vacuum... it just keeps coming) - I've been interested in trying out vinyl flooring for the 180. I ordered a couple samples from SCS. The "pimple" seems durable, but also like it should have the ensolite under it... which altogether gets pretty heavy. I'm impressed by the lightness, and cushiness of the "woven vinyl" sample though. Any PIREPS out there on how it performs?

I recently saw a conversation about carpet vs vinyl flooring and one surprising takeaway (credit Asa) is that the carpet helps to capture sand and dirt, like a sluice box, preventing it from working deeper into the aircraft belly.

Hey ZZzzzz! Haha, I think my carpet catches it... and then it filters through it and works like sand paper against the floor.... and never quite gets out of the carpet! (even with extensive vacuuming and pulling it out to wash).

In particular, the woven vinyl seems like a potential "best of both worlds" between dot vinyl and carpet... so am curious if anyone has experience with that in particular.
