If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

What tires are you gonna run, Gary?
Have you checked out the Grove 10" wheels?
Might be that they don't work with Cleveland brakes, I don't know.

Seaplanes West has the only STCs for Grove's 10 inch wheels, I believe. For Super Cubs, Cessna 180/185, and only with smooth tires.

Airframes 10 inch wheels are approved on a bunch of aircraft.

So, depends on what airplane/approval.

Re: WTB 10" Alaska Bushwheels

Wanting to try the desser tundra tires. Too much pavement for me to use the AKBW's. As far as I know if I use the AKBW's I can keep running my Clevelands which is a signifiacant savings. I like the idea of the Groves with a bigger rotar, but I have always been happy with Clevelands and if ever on the road and needing parts probly a lot more cleveland part layin around.???

Gary,

Airframes' wheels/brakes are compatible with Clevelands, I believe. I know many of them certainly are, anyway. Not so much with Groves stuff.

As to the bigger brake discs on Grove's ten inch wheels: I have the Airframes 10 inch wheels/brakes. Trust me, there would be no problem at all getting the plane on its nose with those brakes. Believe me, that's a marketing thing, not a necessity.

I love the 10 inch wheels. I'm running Desser 8.50 x 10 treaded tires on them now. When I bought the tires, Desser listed their smooth 8.50 x 10 tires for a little over twice the price of the treaded tires, so I passed. I see now the smooth tire prices are lowered considerably, so today, I'd probably buy the smooth tires.....maybe. I'd like to see a set first, but....

I run these at 16 to 18 psi, and they do a nice job.
