A buddy and I are on our first day of an 8 day trip. We are getting into Denver tonight. We are playing around Colorado,Nevada,Utah,Idaho.
We can hand prop the plane, but if someone has a spare we would fly to you.

Okay. I will have to wait till Monday for beagles. Good option there. I would also ship a starter back if someone does not want to sell there spare

If you can wait until Monday when they're open, call Mountain Air Aviation at KBJC (Denver/Broomfield). Greg Boom the owner runs a large "shop for the people" aka he'll take any business at any moment. He also owns a big flight school there so he has tons of common parts laying around, new or used. Can almost guarantee that if you were at his hangar when he opened at 7am, You'd have a new starter on by 9am. He's a great guy and super helpful. Low shop rates as well.

We ended up hand propping the plane the rest of the trip. Of which we learned fairly quickly:
4 - pumps primer
mags off and rotate prop 2-3 revolutions
pull from vertical 180 degree's through and its really the second compression hit that gets the engine running.
At first I was really leery of pulling the prop through from the front side of the prop. But, the engine does not instantly start going 800-1000 rpm. you have some time to get away.
It started the first try up in leadville at 40 degree's after it sat two days.
We put 30 hours on flying around. We were all excited about hitting up the chicken strip, but the runway way X'd and we found later that it was damaged a while back.
Maybe next time.

Not sure how to get pictures in correct orientation.
Skytech says they will warranty the starter. It’s 4 month out of warranty. Hopefully next one lasts longer that 240hrs

Great pictures and adventure. Since you didn't get the Leadville hangar here's one I have from 30 yrs ago. I even got a certificate from Ursula for landing at the highest airport in the USA.

Thanks, that old hangar was not in leadville anymore. A big giant one was in its place I am sure. The Staff at kern valley was nice for camping. there were two bikes for riding into town. We had borrito's for breakfast at the cracked egg that were great. We did not do much else.
