Looking for a set of Federal 1500 or 1500A skis.

What is approx value with no rigging? I am not at my hangar to check data plates, but I believe I have 2 pair and I think they are federal 1500 (if memory serves) but neither have associated rigging. I think all 4 are in reasonable shape. I bought them for my Cub a decade+ ago back when we used to get plenty of snow here in central WA. Not much snow in recent years (Murphy-since I bought them)......

These skiis fit on axle. I think it was determined at the time I would need a bushing for my cub axle....(?)
Like I say, it has been quite a while.

If you don't find a set, take a look at the Aero 2000s. They are lighter and reasonably priced new skis.

The Aero 2000s are good skis. I have them for my plane. Work good and are light. They'll be going on soon.

I'm not sure about value; I just started shopping. I do know that I will need bushings for my Luscombe but do not know if it is the same bushing needed for a cub.

Are AERO 2000s direct replacements for Federal 2000s? Federal 2000s and 1500s are on the Luscombe TCDS but AEROs are not.

Hey Whee. There is a few sets of 1500s on barnstormers a few days ago when I looked. I can't help you on the differences between the two. Sorry.

Aeros are installed via STC.

They don't have a website, so you'd have to call them to find out if the Luscomb is on their list. Brooten, MN, as I recall.

I've got a nice pair of 1500 Federals with UHMW PE bottoms and dolly wheels that you can taxi on (careful, no brakes). Bought Trickairs. $1000. They are in New York

Whee- let me know if you are headed west very far (Boise, Ont, etc.) for anything. I could meet you and "work a deal", but I expect you would want to "lay eyes" upon them before choosing numbers. I'll try to make a special trip to the hangar this weekend to get ski data plate info if you have travel west in your plans soon.
I'm laid up right now till mid Jan, so I'm not going out there much-but I can fit in a car to travel.

BTW, both sets of mine are "bone stock", likely not used in decades, and look pretty good to me-obviously very subjective......
