WTB Maule M5-6-7

Hi everyone. I am looking for a Maule to use in Alaska this coming season for my Gold mine in the Brooks Range. Anyone know of a hanger queen or something dead on a ramp somewhere?

You may have already checked it out, but the '93 M7 on BS in Boulder is a long wing. 33'8" wing with 120" flaps. I went and looked at it a while back when it was in Texas. It's a fixer upper for sure, but might be worth looking into. It has a colorful history and will require quite a bit of money to get it back in shape. If a fuel injected long wing interests you, its one of very few to look at.

Yes I know of the M7 in Colorado. I have not looked at it though. What does it need? Marty

It was May of '15 when I saw it last, but here's the big things that I remember.

I know it wouldn't pass an annual because the wood stringers need to be replaced. Although the fabric overall seemed serviceable, I assume it would have to come off to replace the stringers?
There was a little rust showing, so while the fabric is off, better look all the tubing over real good, and expect to do a little work.
Despite only 400-something hours TT, at 24 years old, the engine is suspect to me. It spent lots of time sitting.
It has the Hartzell prop.
Interior was serviceable (blue) and the panel was vintage 1993.
It went to the Mexican Military from the factory. I don't recall exactly where, but it lived somewhere south of Mexico City, kinda tropical area...hence the rust and the concern for the engine. Came to Texas maybe 4 or 5 years ago and sat in a hangar in south Texas until it went to Colorado.
I don't remember there being any evidence of it being wrecked or looped. Logs were complete, mostly in Spanish.
It needs work, but obviously will fly as is. They flew it on a ferry permit from south Texas to Colorado.
That's about all the facts I can accurately produce. PM me if you want to talk anymore about it. I did talk to the owner about it again a few months ago.

Don't know if an M4 would be a consideration but I have a 1970 M4-220C approx 1500TT, 400SMOH with 8.5's and extended range tanks if interested. Let me know if so...
