Rose and attended this year. It was my second time and her first. I must say we had a a blast. Harmonicas, a dobro, wash tub bass, great bands.

We spent most of the weekend hanging out at Johnson Creek. When it got hot in the afternoons we soaked and hung out near the water. Sat evening we spent at the festival until about midnight. Great fun and a true slice of Americanna.

Sat evening is the best time to be there in my opinion. Especially latter, like after 10pm when things really get rolling.

My daughter and I did the harmonica festival a few years ago and had a blast, too. We didn't do the late night stuff, but she loved the various dog competitions (cutest, ugliest, etc.)

Yes, It looked to be a great time for all ages. Rose and were just commenting on how many families and kids were there. Certainly a nicely done community event. Lots of things for all ages to enjoy.

Been wanting to take my Fiddle to this festival for years, never have made it..

And advice for a newbie, toward next year?

Well it depends on how long you plan to stay and what you want to do while your there. We stayed at JC and took the courtesy vans to YP. Lots of people camp on the outskirts of YP on the "Golf Course" which is not really a golf course, but you'd have to visit YP to understand that logic. Others stay at nearby lodges or cabins.

We like both the JC airstrip culture and being in YP to visit as needed or planned. Guess it depends on whether you'll fly in or drive.
