Or maybe "water resistant" is referring to the electrical connectors, control panel / switches, battery compartment, and drive motor?

One would hope a Brit bike is water resistant. Then again they were the folks that gave up Lucas Electronics, which proved Darwinism did not apply to automotive ignition systems.

In the mechanic world, we referred to Lucas as "The Prince of Darkness", since nothing ever worked.

Warning thread drift.
Yeah, I had a Lucas (first name George I think) Prince of Darkness T-shirt from Watkins Glen many years ago.
I owned three British bikes Triumph and Norton(2). Foggy mornings were not a pleasure. In fact one foggy morning high on the Blue Ridge parkway I had to 2nd gear it 1/4-1/2 mile down the mountain before it lit off.

I've been fording run off swollen creeks a lot the last couple weeks, and that really makes you think when packing 17 amp hours of 52 vdc battery. So far so good, the battery is really not in danger of getting submerged, but the motor is. If it's not water proof, it's at least more or less water resistant (Bafang BBSHD mid drive)
