I feel a lot better after reading this thread, thanks to all. Some of the things I will never do again.
1. Turn down my radio without turning it off. And I was wondering why approach did not reply, I have to wonder how many other pilots I stepped on, sorry for being a klutz.
2. Installing an oil filter without using a torque wrench, I changed the oil and made a four hour X country flight, landed and returned to the aircraft six days later, while fueling the aircraft prior to leaving, My wife noticed a puddle of oil under the aircraft, I responded that’s not from our aircraft, (I ALWAYS check the oil and for oil leaks after landing, and before getting in the plane) she said she saw it drip, the oil filter had started leaking !!!!

Conservatively I have installed over a thousand oil filters, this was the first one that I can remember leaking in this fashion. By hand is not good enough for an aircraft. There is little doubt that if I had taken off with this filter leaking I would have an inflight event. There are a lot of what ifs here, I feel lucky, and God bless my wife for noticing it. Ps, did not bother her a bit, we fixed it and were on our way.
