I see some pretty lengthy posts in the "Where Did You Fly Today?" thread from time to time, featuring some nice photos and a caption for each one. If you've made that much effort, it's really only a little further to get a "Featured Trip Report" article that will be shared on the homepage and on our Facebook page.

Now, if you have no aspirations of fame or simply deplore writing, that is cool. Keep it here in the forum, keep it simple. But I know some of your are pretty great storytellers who, if you spent just an hour writing and filling in the gaps between photos of your adventure tale, could produce a nice piece that could be enjoyed by thousands of readers who love this stuff.

Your trip doesn't even have to be that spectacular-- the enjoyment is in the conveying of the tale, the inspiration and invitation to all of us dreamers to become Walter Mitty in your right seat.

Personally I like single thread trip reports from pilots. Even if it is just touch and goes. If I like a mates trip and want to use the information for further flying in my own aircraft then I can keep the links organized better.

The "motorcycle forums" are really advanced when it comes to relational organization of various threads. The popular threads point to various other threads (which point to various others threads....which...which..).

I stopped posting in the mega threads because I need to keep a handle on where I was and what it looked like.

I'm planning a trip -Vancouver to northern Yukon and thinking I'd make incremental posts whenever I get internet access -more of a blog than a single report;
so best to make one post and then edit to add to it or one post and then "reply" to add another section or .....

If you just want to post to the forum without aspirations for anything fancier for our online magazine, that works great for daily sharing with the users here.
