Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Although not of interest to me at this point I must congratulate anyone who brings new STC's to these aircraft in the current environment, good stuff and I hope it goes well for you!!!

Interesting the 182 STC covers the E which isn't a narrow body and the F and G are nearly identical to the E but not covered and the H is a G with a panel re-do and ……..

Is this just step 1 in getting all of the 182's certified???

Nice work by the way. =D>

Yeah, basic rule: feed them and they will grow. :)

BTW, back in olden times when it was still legal to put 2 under the same seatbelt, on my long cross country dual, Wife 1 and both guys fit OK in the back seat of a 172--don't recall what year model it was, but it was only a few years old, and that was in December 1972. They were only 6 and 2, and she was tall but slender. If they'd been much bigger or if she'd been any wider, it wouldn't have worked.

I appreciate your efforts Matt. I'm not in need of this STC at the moment, but time will tell.

I too would love to see pictures.

Matt, I fixed the pictures. You had the hard part done, but for the link, click on the "IMAGE URL" in the upper right and then paste that link into the

I've proven this hypothesis true.

Re: 5 Place 180, 182, 170

On the 170 & early 180 rear bench seats, the seat belts attach to the seat itself. Where does your center seatbelt attach?
A buddy of mine used to have a Piper Clipper, the rear seat just used one belt that went across both occupants. I never heard anything about there being an AD, SB, or any other rule change which would have required installing separate belts. Unless the TCDS calls out the maximum number of occupants, I don't see why that arrangement wouldn't work for three (small) people as well as for two.
