Don’t know how much time you have in a Pacer, but I firmly disagree with you here. If the airplane has a jackscrew and trimmable horizontal trim is very important with low airspeed.

I owned a Pacer and the same can be said for my 180.

I owned three back in the day. Wire to crank jackscrew was broke on one. I didn't climb much so seemed a chore for takeoff and landing. I just kept it in position for cruise. But I did the same with all light airplanes. Yes, an overloaded Pawnee needed trim to hold the nose up until a couple of swaths could be sprayed off.

I understand trim usage is good form. So is landing slow enough that there is little relative wind against the controls. There should be some prop blast, however.

For me, the 180 is a big mean machine. Never owned one so mostly let the student or Bi-annual pilot work the trim.
