Thanks for the offer! I had to change plans to stop there to fit fuel stops.

I would have liked to have a little time to explore around Ft St John.

I knew an old guy that moved from Green River to i;m pretty sure Ft St John in the 80's and lived there for quite a while before moving back to UT,

Maybe you knew him or know someone who knew of him?

Jim. Hurst.

Jim was friends with my grandfather They Both came to Green River UT from CO back in the day. Jim actually made the original Green River airport in town a thriving business.

He was also responsible for many of the backcountry strips we use today here in SE Utah. Mostly Uranium mine support. He would haul crews, tools, equipment and anything else he could in an airplane!

There was a little book that a local author wrote many years ago about his story.

Anyway he was a very innovative man. Always thinking of a better way!

The plan is to Depart Homer, Fuel in Gulkana, Fuel in Tok and file eapis and call canpass, then on to Whitehorse for customs and probably to spend the night.

The Citabria cruises about 100 MPH so fuel stops are a little tougher to plan!

In the morning I will plan out the next days flight. In all likelyhood. Watson Lake, Fort Nelson, Fort St John.

Tango, not sure if your planning on heading down the trench or not, but if you end up in the Grande Prairie area for night let me know. I have a room for Ya.
Safe flight!
David

Thanks

I did make Grand Prairie but just a quick fuel stop. Had to make the most of the great Wx and continue on. :-)

Thanks I Didn't see your post until too late.

Stopped at Fort Nelson a little after dark. Tied down at the grass edge on the north end of the ramp. I got a cab ride to the hotel and left first thing in the morning.

Re: Alaska to Utah Starting today? 10/13

I made it to Green River last night just at dusk.
My airstrip was too muddy so I had to go to the city airport
Maybe in a few days it will be usable?

Made a stop for a few days in Bozeman to see some sights.

I am uploading more pics of the trip but should have taken more!

Guess what I worked with Jim when he lived here, his brother Howie also worked with him at his aircraft maintence shop. Glad to hear you made it through as the weather has been up and down the last few weeks we've had a few stop by and wait out weather. Your welcome to stop by anytime.
