Another Bearhawk Takes Flight

Congratulations to Kevin Cox who's O-540 Bearhawk took its first flight today. She flew well handled beautifully; great job Kevin! =D> =D> =D> I had a big smile on my face the whole time it flew so nicely. :D

Kevin really did a great job on this one and equipped it very well with 2 GRT EFIS's with synthetic vision, a Barrows O-540, and Hartzell 84-inch constant speed prop. This makes 3 flying Bearhawks in Elko and a fourth one that moved from Elko to near Minden last year.

Or you could find a zero time prebuilt one and fly right away. I'm just saying...

Don't get in too big a hurry, Whee; They left for Moose Creek a few minutes ago as part of a big gaggle from Elko, leaving me to rot on the Ranch.
In brighter news, Kevin's airplane is beautiful, with polished wings, immaculate paint and workmanship. It's a contender for the best looking airplane I've ever seen.

VERRRRY NICE!
The BH is a great airplane, and I'm sure he will be pleased with its performance.
Sounds like a beautiful job, too!

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

I think that is how I would do it. I love the polished look.

Nothing official yet. Just saying I really want a Bearhawk and I'm learning that when it comes to an experimental having people around that have "been there done that" is extremely helpful.

Blackrock is another important feature. He's the resident Bearhawk test pilot and has been a mentor to all of us. It's a perfect storm, Whee.

I agree, Blackrock is a great guy and would be very valuable to have close by. So, you want to hire a new ranch hand

Hey Whee; the pay structure is a little spotty for Ranch Hands, although I know you'd look good on a horse.

Mining has slowed down with the decline in gold. There is an oil play begging here. The best opportunity for entry level is with contractors in mining or oil, although they're suffering from the mining slowdown too. I have a house for sale near the airport that would look good on you.

Rob, you are welcome here anytime! When are you coming through? We'll take the BH for a ride and you can look at and potentially fly others while you're here.
