Don't know if it made the national news, but Kodiak launch facility in AK blew up one of their rockets last month, six seconds into flight. Strange, you don't normally hear of rockets blowing up.

Recently, you don't hear of many rockets blowing up recently. I remember a time when it was a pretty common occurrence. Pre Mercury 7 time, so, early to mid 60's, (?close enough), point being, it IS rare nowadays, since they pretty much got them figured out. But wow, what a show!

Well, apparently the rocket motor is Russian made, vintage mid '60's....so that fits.

I am continually puzzled by the inane comments and useless emotional reactions people express when things go wrong. The bigger the mishap the more rediculous the behavior. Whatever the distress the panic prone people always make it worse. Will somebody please give the guy some smelling salts?

Yeah, how about it! Same with scowling when angry. What's the point really! And what's with laughter! How much more useless an emotional reaction can there be. Worse than an inane comment it's a nearly uncontrollable spurt of nonsense, noise. Not even really syllables. Serves no purpose whatsoever!

Now who wants to be rescued? I wish the female firefighters I worked with looked like this!

These tear your heart out

I have to agree. I would have rather enjoyed the sounds of the explosion but instead we have people yammering and screaming and emoting with their vocal cords. Whenever startled, my wife screams involuntarily. I just don't get it.
