Average Age on the Forum?

Just turned 27 last month. The 180 is 2 years older than I. Usually the youngest at any fly-in but love to listen to you guys that have been around a little longer.

I wish I could use my IQ instead of my age. I must be the oldest one still flying. I am 72 and still going strong. For how long I don't know. Check this out. Bob

We have a guy at Lenhardts airport that got his PPL and celebrated his 80th birthday on the same day. I am proud to be a friend of Jessies.

How'd you like the Husky?

Its a nice airplane, has too many bells and whistles for me (avionics up the wazoo) but it cost him over $200K (new),whattaya expect? It's the very same airplane ("the Big Dog") flown for a recent magazine review of this new A1B-200 model (don't remember which magazine). Real nice but waaay outa my tax bracket. The owner put a set of Bushwheels (31" mains plus the baby out back) on it. Now if he'd strip all the gyro's,vacuum system, radio's, etc out of it he might have something!

Cessna Skywagon -- accept no substitute!

I took my grandfather on his first ever plane ride @ 92 years old. He always swore he never would get in one. He was really forgetful (alziehmers) and it only took him a minute after getting out of the plane to forget he was ever in it. Lost the old guy in October, sure miss him.

There you go quoting Napoleon Dynamite again. 8)

Yeah this turned out to be a cool thread. I am blown away by how many young guys we have. It's pretty cool when a guy who is 20 and a guy who is 80 have a common interest (besides women) and will go to the same party and share beers together and talk shop.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Just for anybody keeping track, my rough math says our combined age is 1,750 years w/ an average of 31.81 years. Had to take a little creative liberty for you guys w/ ages in the form of word problems so it may be a bit off. :D

Sigh. I know what you mean, though some good info over there and I've met a couple friends. Anyway, 37. Though my true emotional age is more like 25

and my Molly is 27.

we just got back from a cross country on straight skis on a beautiful snowy day.... my gyros are still winding down. we are a really lucky bunch of guys (and gals) to be involved in aviation, no matter what our age.

I tuned 48 yesterday, that makes me a '59 model and my Fly'n station wagon is a 48 model.

I have to say, I have owned rag bags all of my life, love them, but you never get anywhere fast.

I have been eyeballing a super viking as I think they may be the fastest of the rag bag planes. Wheel is on the wrong end though.

Dane

Dane, not to hijack the thread, but don't discount the Cruisair line either..especially the last ones with the 0-470...now that's an airplane!

I'm 55 and the Skywagon is 27, but it has more experience than me.
